Working in community spaces

What is the purpose of the study?  We are conducting research looking at how and why people who work remotely from home sometimes use community spaces, such as pubs, cafes or village halls to work in. These spaces play an important role in community cohesion in rural areas and, at the same time the pandemic has prompted a shift towards remote working and the demand for spaces to work from has increased. Using funding from the National Innovation Centre for Rural Enterprise (NICRE) and working with the Plunkett Foundation we are interviewing people about their views and experiences of working in rural community spaces. It is hoped that results will help inform a toolkit aimed at providing practical guidance to the pub industry, rural pub managers and those working in rural community development.
